This is a big deal...

So why is no one talking about this?

Median prices down in every single district (with the exception of D8, which doesn't count since they only had 2 sales in the whole district), YOY, in the fabled "spring bounce" month of May.

One would think there would be 20 comments on this at least, and all the local blogs would be discussing this with great interest, yet there isn't a peep from anybody but me. Wussup with that?

missionite, i hear ya!!! i've asked several times why there is such little discussion. i send alex the numbers thinking that somebody would talk about them at least on his blog. maybe if we consolidate and keep those stats in one place, we are more likely to get discussion. all i know is that i'd love to talk about it. i posted these stats on my blog, made one comment to get things going and i didn't hear a thing...

found your blog, loved it, then you were gone. so glad you are back.

i saw these numbers on schtuff, but really only looked at the sales numbers as i don't but much value in the median. but woah, some of these numbers are huge. over a million in district 7 and over 700000 in 6.

crazy how stuff is still through the roof.

also up slightly in 9.

missionite - I think you should buy this house at 1104 Treat. You can get it for under 800 - You can get it for about $750. 1,537 square feet, 2,807 square foot lot. You'd have to remodel it but it will be fantastic when finished and there is so much you could do with that lot!!! (playground anyone?)

Get in touch with me if you want to hear more about it - I viewed it last night. dwelleru@gmail.com

I just saw this article, I swear I hadn't read it when I wrote this article - http://apieceofthepie.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/06/the-feds-want-to-ban-seller-funded-gifts.html and this one a few days before - http://apieceofthepie.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/06/i-was-wrong.html. I guess great minds think alike or we all use the same slang and cute kitties. btw, sorry to hear about the prices going down in your beloved city, Rockridge, Piedmont and Berkeley are holding up but in other places it's just carnage (ie Antioch, San Pablo, Vallejo, East Oakland)
